AUSTIN, Texas — Former Longhorns basketball coach Jody Conradt was honored for "Sportsmanship" by the First Tee of Greater Austin at the 2019 Nine Core Values Luncheon.Conradt, who won 900 games as coach, including the 1986 National Championship, was one of several Austinites recognized.Colt McCoy and Michael Griffin were guest speakers for the event.This is the eleventh year of the Nine Core Values Luncheon, which honors Austinites who embody The First Tee’s “Nine Core Values.” The Nine Core Values are a vital component of The First Tee’s curriculum which teaches character education to young people ages 7-17 through the game of golf.Notifications can be turned off anytime in the browser settings.Nine core values are recognized at the event, and former Longhorns basketball coach Jody Conradt was honored for one of them. Conradt also was Texas' women's athletic director from 1992-2001.Conradt will be just the second female public figure to have a statue dedicated on the Texas campus, joining civil rights champion and former U.S. Rep.
